It was a night of hellos and goodbyes at the Milwaukee Brat House this Wednesday evening, as Quizmaster bid fairwell to long-time queep Katie Dorman who, as a member of the legend that is In My Pants, has graced the QM circuit in Milwaukee for many moons...

One final picture of the gang, with Quizmaster Ryan in the shot too!

Their crew didn't place on the night, but they will forever hold a special place in the hearts of Milwaukee's Quizmasters.

Katie departs for Florida (the panhandle part, we hear) later this week, and in true Brat House quizzin'-for-a-livin' style she raised her Schlitz cup one final time...

We can't take photo credit for that one - that's courtesy of fellow In My Pants stalwart Scott Genz.

We wish her all the best in the future, but as with all true Milwaukee quizzers, we have a feeling we'll see her again soon :)

And while we were boding fair well to one long-time player, the Brat House welcomed four newbies in the shape and form of Balls and Chains...

We have a feeling we might see them back next time :p

And the drama didn't end there, as following the win on the night for team Ryan wants some Bubble and Squeak (that's the codename for the usual Fuckin Wolverines), there was a mother fuckin' showdown for the ages, as a sudden death round ensued to determine second place...

Yes, two teams, who both shared their love for the beer that made Milwaukee famous - that would be Schlitz on her chest and What Kanye really bought was 1000 Schlitzs thanks to Grover Cleveland - went at it for the money, but ultimately the latter stole the $20 tab...

And finally the accolade for best team name, aka the people's prize, went to the duo of On a scale of Casey Anthony to Jerry Sandusky, how much do you like kids?...

Last place, but here at Quizmaster everyone has a shot to win something. And hey, that's @zoeysandwick up to no good again!

Besides Agatha Christie, he is the most
translated author in the history of literature

Jules Gabriel Verne (February 8, 1828 – March 24, 1905) was a French author who pioneered the science fiction genre.

He is best known for his novels Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea (1870), A Journey to the Center of the Earth (1864), and Around the World in Eighty Days (1873). Verne wrote about space, air, and underwater travel before air travel and practical submarines were invented, and before practical means of space travel had been devised. He is the second most translated author in the world (after Agatha Christie). Some of his books have also been made into live-action and animated films and television shows. Verne is often referred to as the "Father of Science Fiction", a title sometimes shared with Hugo Gernsback and H. G. Wells.

On March 9, 1886, as Verne was coming home, his twenty-five-year-old nephew, Gaston, shot him with a gun. One bullet missed, but the second entered Verne's left leg, giving him a limp that would not be cured. The incident was hushed up by the media, and Gaston spent the rest of his life in an asylum.

Also a restaurant built into the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France is named Le Jules Verne Restaurant.

It was yet again a night to remember, although after numerous Schlitz it might have been a night some forgot, at the legend that is the Brat House this Wednesday evening.

Quiz night was in full session, as some of the old quiz veterans returned to the Brat House, as the crews formerly known as Coitus Interuptus and Fuckin' Wolverine teamed up for a photo at the end...

They took the one and two spots at the top of standing on the night!

The Quizmaster also got a snap of the lovely ladies of Out side of Grandma's house we are all just criminals, who suggested that the QM should host a "Nerd Bowl..."

That would be a history, geography, science and literature-themed event (like the sports/pop culture themed Quiz Bowl).

Let's just say we're working on it!

The people's prize for best team name went to quite possibly the lamest of all team names ever, but for some reason everyone at the Brat thought "Hoof Arted" was a real gem of a name, so they took the $10...

It's about time they won something! And, oh, welcome back Megan - who's been in Nicaragua for the past couple of years in the Peace Corp!

A final reminder that Quiz Bowl II, Milwaukee's sports and pop culture trivia tournament is this upcoming Sunday January 29th! Register your team now!

It was a full house again at the Brat House on Wednesday night, as 10 teams and over 50 queeps put on their thinking (and drinking) caps for quiz night.

And all the quiz legends were in attendance, none more so than the artist formerly known as Bark Twice If You're in Milwaukee, who were going by the moniker THUG LIFE on the night...

Their name on the night was a tribute to Rihanna's latest tattoo...

Quizmaster Ryan has a similar tattoo on his stomach - QUIZ LIFE - that's legit!

Elsewhere the former Firefoxes, aka KolaJesus were celebrating Pat's 21st (?) birthday...

Ladies man of course!

And after a sudden death showdown for the ages, it was Lady Gaga - The Piano, drums, guitar and the dick (we're assuming that's a reference to the instrument she can play - giggity) took the second place accolade...

to go over Niagara Falls in a barrel and survive!

Annie Edson Taylor (October 24, 1838 – April 29, 1921) was an American adventurer who, on her 63rd birthday, October 24, 1901, became the first person to survive a trip over Niaga ra Falls in a barrel.

In October 1829, Sam Patch, who called himself "the Yankee Leapster", jumped from a high tower into the gorge below the falls and survived; this began a long tradition of daredevils trying to go over the falls. On October 24, 1901, 63-year-old Michigan school teacher Annie Edson Taylor was the first person to go over the falls in a barrel as a publicity stunt; she survived, bleeding, but virtually unharmed. Soon after exiting the barrel, she said, "No one ought ever do that again."Previous to Taylor's own attempt, on October 19 a domestic cat named Iagara was sent over the Horseshoe Falls in her barrel to test its strength. Contrary to rumours at the time, the cat survived the plunge unharmed and later was posed with Taylor in photographs. Since Taylor's historic ride, 14 other people have intentionally gone over the falls in or on a device, despite her advice. Some have survived unharmed, but others have drowned or been severely injured. Just a brief reminder that Quiz Bowl II, Milwaukee's sports and pop culture triva tournament is next Sunday January 29th! Register your team now!

It was a pretty slow night at the Brat House this Wednesday at 6:59pm, but then 7:00pm rolled around and out of nowhere a bunch of awesome queeps rolled through the doors for the weekly pub quiz showdown on Old World 3rd Street!

Ultimately it was the familiar faces of Mr Owl Says: "It takes 3 licks to the center of Ryan's Mom" who had a near-perfect score of 59 points in the end...

They are always the charming and rather classier of groups at the Brat! The only question they missed was the one about the "elongated S-shape instrument!"

Second place went the way of Quizmaster veterans Gather round the good stuff... in my pants!...

Sounds yummy!!!

And the Quizmaster wanted to award the best team name accolade to MILFs in training, "gather round the good stuff" who finished second from bottom...

Because you can never say no to a good MILF (even the one's in training)...

But popular crowd applause meant that the 10 dolla prize for best name went to Discount Double Choke, who were rather thrilled that they were getting 10 extra Schlitz....

Best known by his nickname "Machine Gun Kelly,"
he spent 17 years as an inmate at Alcatraz

George Kelley Barnes (July 18, 1895 – July 18, 1954), better known as "Machine Gun Kelly", was an American gangster during the prohibition era. His nickname came from his favorite weapon, a Thompson submachine gun. His most famous crime was the kidnapping of oil tycoon & businessman Charles Urschel in July 1933 for which he, and his gang, earned $200,000 ransom. The FBI investigation eventually led to Kelly's arrest in Memphis, Tennessee on September 26, 1933. His crimes also included bootlegging and armed robbery.

Machine Gun Kelly spent his remaining 21 years in prison. During his time at Alcatraz he got the nickname "Pop Gun Kelly." This was in reference, according to a former prisoner, to the fact that Kelly was a model prisoner and was nowhere near the tough, brutal gangster his wife made him out to be. He spent 17 years on Alcatraz, working in the prison industries, and was quietly transferred back to Leavenworth in 1951. He died of a heart attack at Leavenworth Federal Prison, Kansas on July 18, 1954, his 59th birthday. He is buried at Cottondale Texas Cemetery with a small headstone marked "George B. Kelley 1954".

Crazy Quiz Times at the Brat!

The Milwaukee Brat House was the place to be for quizzers everywhere this past Wednesday. QM Pete stepped in for Ryan for the night as the chants of "bring back Pete" echoed around the bar.

Only one team could win the quiz though and that was, The Hipster Burned His Mouth Because He Ate The Pizza Before It Was Cool....

Second place went to In My Pants...

and best team name went to My Dixie Wrecked....

The quiz took an unusual turned when the Marquette basketball game exited from the Bradley Center and about 300 people spilled into the Brat House, meaning that the remainder of the quiz had to take place in the small back-room area. The quiz answers and scores were given out in a private and intimate finale to avoid the chaos.

A new year meant the same old quizness as usual at the Brat House again this Wednesday. And in what is typically a very slow week for bar business (the week after NYE), it was a rather buzzin' crowd of queeps this Wednesday night.

Nine teams and about 45 quizzers were in the house, although it was the old guard of I'd be merry if there were something poppin.... in my pants! and Ostentatious Eateries (aka Fuckin' Wolverine) that took the one and two spots come 9pm. They agreed with the QM that we have WAY to many photos of them, and so we move on...

Elsewhere on the evening, I like to quiz myself (the former Firefoxes crew) took an honorable third place, and we welcomed them back after their hibernation period from quiz over Christmas...

And newcomers Big Tuna finished fourth - a great showing for their Quizmaster debut...

We hope to see those lovely ladies back next time!

Although the night's big story came from the battle for best team name, and in the end twas the rowdy crew from Schlit Faced!!! that took away the $10 prize...

It's a good thing this isn't a spelling bee, although they were very excited to win something! That's 10 Schlit(z) for them!

Charles Elwood "Chuck" Yeager (born February 13, 1923) is a retired major general in the United States Air Force and noted test pilot. He was the first pilot to travel faster than sound (1947). Originally retiring in 1975 as a brigadier general, Yeager was promoted to major general on the Air Force's retired list in 2005 for his military achievements.

His career began in World War II as a private in the United States Army Air Forces. After serving as an aircraft mechanic, in September 1942 he entered enlisted pilot training and upon graduation was promoted to the rank of flight officer (the World War II USAAF equivalent to warrant officer) and became a North American P-51 Mustang fighter pilot. After the war he became a test pilot of many kinds of aircraft and rocket planes. Yeager was the first man to break the sound barrier on October 14, 1947, flying the experimental Bell X-1 at Mach 1 at an altitude of 45,000 ft (13,700 m). Although Scott Crossfield was the first man to fly faster than Mach 2 in 1953, Yeager shortly thereafter set a new record of Mach 2.44. He later commanded fighter squadrons and wings in Germany and in Southeast Asia during the Vietnam War, and in recognition of the outstanding performance ratings of those units he then was promoted to brigadier general. Yeager's flying career spans more than 60 years and has taken him to every corner of the globe, including the Soviet Union during the height of the Cold War.

Quizmaster originale Ryan returned from his holiday break in London to host quiz night again at the Brat House this Wednesday night, and although he had come straight from the airport (and was lacking much needed sleep) the show must go on!

And that it did...

On the final quiz of the year, it was Brat House stalwarts I come thick and fast... in my pants! that would record the last victory of 2011, as they had some luck in sudden death to collect the $40 tab...

We wish them a happy new year and a prosperous and healthy 2012!

Since 1904, it dropped 77 feet each year!

The Times Square Ball is a time ball dropped each year during the New Year’s Eve celebration in Times Square, Manhattan, New York City. The ball is made by Waterford Crystal and electric lights is raised to the top of a pole on the One Times Square building at 6:00 pm and then lowered to mark the coming of the New Year. The ball descends 77 feet (23 m) over the course of a minute, coming to rest at the bottom of its pole at midnight, and a sign lights up with the digits of the new year, as the ball's lights turn off. Toshiba's Times Square advertising screen directly below the ball counts down to midnight as well alongside several other billboards in the area.

Every year up to one million people gather in Times Square to watch the ball drop, and an estimated 1 billion watch the video of the event, 100 million of them in the United States.

The first New Year's Eve celebration in the area was held in 1904. The New York Times newspaper had opened their new headquarters on Longacre Square (the city's second tallest building), and persuaded the city to rename the triangular "square" surrounding it for the newspaper. The newspaper's owner, Adolph Ochs, decided to celebrate the move with a midnight fireworks show on the building for New Year's Eve. Close to 200,000 attended the event, displacing celebrations held at Trinity Church. However, Adolph wanted a bigger spectacular at the building to draw more attention to the square — in 1907, the paper's chief electrician Walter F. Palmer constructed a lit ball that would be lowered from a flagpole at One Times Square. It was constructed with iron and wood, was lit with one hundred 25-watt bulbs, weighed 700 pounds (320 kg) and measured 5 feet (1.5 m) in diameter. At first, it dropped 1 second after midnight. Even after the Times moved its headquarters to 229 W. 43rd St., the celebration continued.

The Bucks were in action for the 2011-2012 NBA pre-season just a block away this Wednesday night, but that didn't stop the show from commencing at the Brat House for a festive quiz night this past week!

Parking might start getting a bit tricky from now on, so arrive early!

And in the end, it was Quizmaster Kevin H. stepping in for Ryan, who had just left for Christmas in London, but never fear, he'll be back next week!

It's a Wonderful Life is a 1946 American Christmas drama film produced and directed by Frank Capra and based on the short story "The Greatest Gift" written by Philip Van Doren Stern.

The film stars James Stewart as George Bailey, a man whose imminent suicide on Christmas Eve brings about the intervention of his guardian angel, Clarence Odbody (Henry Travers). Clarence shows George all the lives he has touched and the contributions he has made to his community.

Despite initially being considered a box office flop due to high production costs and stiff competition at the time of its release, the film has come to be regarded as a classic and a staple of Christmas television around the world. Theatrically, the film's break-even point was actually $6.3 million, approximately twice the production cost, a figure it never came close to achieving in its initial release. As usual the Brat House patrons had the Schlitz again this Wednesday quiz night! Yes, one Schlitz = one dollar.

And it was good to see so many queeps - almost 50 of 'em - involved in the fun and games.

And the quiz team formerly known as Fuckin' Wolverine were pleased to pose early for an Dragon Tattoo poster pic...

Would they clinch the free advanced screening passes to the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo?

Perhaps not, but they did Tebow-it when they won the night's quiz with a crushing 57 from 60 points...

They were followed in the night's standings by The Diarrhea of Anne Frank...

Yep, Schlitz'll do that to ya, Anne!

In the end, the free passes to the "Dragon Tatt" film went to Moist Panties, just because they insisted upon it...

Peer pressure: it works people! They gladly took home some quite massive posters from the upcoming film as well!

And the night's prize for best name went to front-row newbies We love Englishmen, who also threw up a poster for their pic...

The Ford Model T (colloquially known as the Tin Lizzie, Flivver, T‑Model Ford, or T) is an automobile that was produced by Henry Ford's Ford Motor Company from September 1908 to May 1927.^[1] It is generally regarded as the first affordable automobile, the car that opened travel to the common middle-class American; some of this was because of Ford's innovations, including assembly line production instead of individual hand crafting. The Ford Model T was named the world's most influential car of the 20th century in an international poll.

The Model T set 1908 as the historic year that the automobile became popular. The first production Model T was produced on August 12, 1908 and left the factory on September 27, 1908, at the Piquette Plant in Detroit, Michigan. On May 26, 1927, Henry Ford watched the 15 millionth Model T Ford roll off the assembly line at his factory in Highland Park, Michigan.

There were several cars produced or prototyped by Henry Ford from the founding of the company in 1903 until the Model T came along. Although he started with the Model A, there were not 19 production models (A through T); some were only prototypes. The production model immediately before the Model T was the Model S, an upgraded version of the company's largest success to that point, the Model N. The follow-up was the Ford Model A and not the Model U. Company publicity said this was because the new car was such a departure from the old that Henry wanted to start all over again with the letter A. As it happens, the first Plymouth car (1928), built by competitor Chrysler Corporation, was named Model U.

It was a pretty full house at the Brat House in Milwaukee this Wednesday trivia night. All the quiz legends, and several others, were in attendance to gobble up the $70-worth (aka 70 Schlitz) or prizes.

Ultimately, it was regulars Allen Gregory... Proof Jonah Hill is only funny when he's fat that stood top of the table again...

They indulged in some lunchboxes post quiz...

Liquid lunch, yummy!

Second place was closely contested as Come one Barbie let's go party... in my pants! and Fuckin' Going Halfses went at in sudden death after tying on 45 points.

In the end the latter won out following the tie break question...

Hope to see them back drinking and thinking next Wednesday.

And finally, the night's team name award went to the Milwaukee trivia veterans of Bark Twice for Herman Cain... for finally pulling out of something...

Pulling out, we don't recommend it. It's either all or nothing!

The Blue Marble is a famous photograph of the Earth taken on December 7, 1972, by the crew of the Apollo 17 spacecraft at a distance of about 45,000 kilometres (28,000 mi).

The name also has been applied by NASA to a modern series of image data sets covering the entire globe at relatively high resolution, created by carefully sifting through satellite captured sequences taken over time, to eliminate as much cloud cover as possible from the collated set of images.

The snapshot — taken by astronauts on December 7, 1972, at 5:39 a.m. EST (10:39 UTC) — is likely one of the most widely distributed photographic images in existence. The image is one of the few to show a fully illuminated Earth, as the astronauts had the Sun behind them when they took the image. To the astronauts, Earth had the appearance of a glass marble (hence the name).

The photograph was taken about 5 hours and 6 minutes after launch of the Apollo 17 mission, and about 1 hour 54 minutes after the spacecraft left parking orbit around the Earth to begin its trajectory to the Moon. The time of Apollo 17's launch, 12:33 a.m. EST, meant that Africa was in daylight during the early hours of the spacecraft's flight. With the December solstice approaching, Antarctica also was illuminated.

It was a night of shocking and profanity-filled team names at the Brat House (again) this Wednesday quiz night.

All the Old World Third Street legends were in the house for trivia, with the combination of Cock Interuptus, Fuckin' Pregnant taking about the Schlitz-gold (a $40 bar tab) in the end.

However, the night's last place finisher (not that we're point fingers or anything) - Star Whores Episode I - stole away the best team name prize...

Newcomers The John Williamssss (that's not a typo) rolled in with a comfortable 39 points and smiled for a pic...

And the Quizmaster fancied getting a picture of the trivia team formerly known as the Firefoxes aka What did Blonde's left leg say to her right? Nothing... they have never met...

They did absolutely nothing to warrant the photo, but we're nice like that, so there.

It was a special pre-Thanksgiving night of pub quizzin' at the Milwaukee Brat House, as most of the usual quizzers, and then some, turned out for trivia night this Wednesday.

And yes, remember every Wednesday Ein Schlitz = Ein Dolla.

Ultimately it was the crew of I've got 2 butterballs & a Jennie-0... In My Pants, that secured in second win in as many weeks...

Missing a couple of the players for the pic, but the nucleus remains!!

Their score of 47 points was just one better than Wolvin Fuckerine, who would have tied for first place if they could do maths...

We shall not go in details on their mathematics debacle. They did stick around for a little bit, however, and consume more Schlitz.

And hence it was only fitting that the night's $10 prize for best name went to relative newcomers Gobblers, who swallowed up that award with pride...

Speed up airport security and two of your players may have a better influence next time! :)

It was a rather swell night of drinking and thinking at the Brat House again this week, as the Quizmaster rolled in at 7:18pm for the 7pm show!

That's what happens when you forget one little chord!

In the end it was the Urban Legends and Quizmaster Cup VI runners-up Urban Myth: Wickens has a giant alligator... In My Pants? that went one better and won this time out...

No questions about alligators roaming the sewers of New York City on the night!

Second place was a much closer affair, as three teams hit 44 points in the end, but after a sudden death question was asked it was the veterans of Bark Twice If You're in Milwaukee that came out #winning the $20 tab...

Good to see them back in the fray after a brief hiatus.

Elsewhere, the Quizmaster's camera said hello to the lovely ladies of My Couch Pulls Out, But I Don't...

The Abraj Al-Bait Towers, also known as the Mecca Royal Hotel Clock Tower, is a building complex in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. The complex holds several world records, including the tallest hotel in the world, the tallest clock tower in the world, the world's largest clock face, and the world's largest building floor area. The complex's hotel tower will become the second tallest building in the world upon its completion in 2011, surpassed only by Dubai's Burj Khalifa. The building complex is meters away from the world's largest mosque and Islam's most sacred site, the Masjid al Haram. The developer and contractor of the complex is the Saudi Binladin Group, the Kingdom's largest construction company.

The hotel tower is topped by a four-faced clock, visible from more than 25 kilometres (16 miles) away, which is the largest clock in the world. The clock will dwarf London's Big Ben, once the largest four-faced clock in the world, as well as the current title holder, the Allen-Bradley Clock Tower in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The dials are more than five times greater in area. The clock's face is also bigger than the current world champion at the Cevahir Mall clock in Istanbul, which has a 36-metre (118-foot) face with 3-metre-high (9.8-foot) digits set in the transparent roof of the shopping complex.

Another electrifying quiz spectacle got underway at usual at the Brat House this Wednesday, with the Schlitz and knowledge flowing to the max!

The night saw twelve team compete for three prizes, and ultimately it was the three man team of Jerry Sandusky... uh... umm... nevermind (usually the Coitus Interuptus crew) that got the top honors, while Tequila Mockingbird took second place.

The latter is certainly "moving on up!" We meant to get their picture, but it just didn't happen in the end!

The night's best team name prize went to the third place team in the shape and form of If a cougar is an older woman who goes after a younger boy, is a Nittany Lion the older man that goes after a younger boy... In My Pants...

Phillip Harvey "Phil" Spector (born Harvey Phillip Spector on December 26, 1939) is an American record producer and songwriter, later known for his conviction in the murder of actress Lana Clarkson.

The originator of the "Wall of Sound" production technique, Spector was a pioneer of the 1960s girl-group sound and produced over 25 Top 40 hits in 1960–1965. After this initial success, Spector later worked with artists including Ike and Tina Turner, John Lennon, George Harrison, and the Ramones with similar acclaim. He produced The Beatles' Academy Award winning album Let It Be, and the Grammy Award–winning Concert for Bangladesh by former Beatle George Harrison. In 1989, Spector was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a non-performer. The 1965 song "You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'", produced and co-written by Spector for The Righteous Brothers, is listed by BMI as the song with the most U.S. airplay in the 20th century.

It was a rather swell and totally bustling night of quizzin' at the Brat House on Wednesday, as the bar had 50 queeps in the house to contest the weekly trivia crown.

And it turned out to be an interesting finish, as relative newcomers, and now Brat House regulars In My Pants, finally took a win on the Brat quiz havinged switch from another venue a month or so ago...

That's what an 8-person team will do for ya! We hope to see them at the Cup next Sunday!

Second place went to the Fuckin Interuptus combination, but we have soooo many pictures of them that we passed this week!

Balls.

The night's best team name award was granted to Kim Kardashian's Marriage was a "Fosbury Flop"...

His name was Dick Fosbury. Coincidence, no?

And the Quizmaster gave an honorable mention to the ladies of ... and they thought we cheated, who were being questioned by fellow teams about the usage of their cell phones during the game...

Last place confirms that they're just bad cheaters, that's all!

Little Big Man is a 1970 American Western film directed by Arthur Penn and based on the 1964 comic novel by Thomas Berger. It is a picaresque comedy about a Caucasian boy raised by the Cheyenne nation during the 19th century. The film is largely concerned with contrasting the lives of American pioneers and Native Americans throughout the progression of the boy's life.

The movie stars Dustin Hoffman, Chief Dan George, Faye Dunaway, Martin Balsam, Jeff Corey and Richard Mulligan. It is considered a revisionist Western, with Native Americans receiving a more sympathetic treatment and United States Cavalry soldiers depicted as villains.

Hoffman holds the record for portraying the greatest age span of a single character, playing Jack Crabb from the age of 17 to 121, a difference of 104 years. To obtain the hoarse voice of a 121-year-old man, Hoffman sat in his dressing room and screamed at the top of his lungs for an hour. The makeup for the ancient Crabb was created by Dick Smith from foam latex and included revolutionary false eyelids that could blink along with the actor's. Due to editing, and much to Smith's chagrin, no blinks were visible in the finished film. Of the makeup, Hoffman was quoted in Life as saying, "I defy you to put on that makeup and not feel old". Well, it was nothing short of a smashing night of pub quiz at the legendary Milwaukee Brat House this Wednesday night. And while the bar had only 5 patrons present at 6:59pm, the place was bustling by 7 p.m. as queeps got ready to get their groove back with the Quizmaster.

And the night's victors came in the shape and form of Ann Coulter Looks Like Fucking Skeletor - But Rob Would Still Nail Her, who teamed up with the night's runners up - Fuckin' Wolverine featuring Uncle Gary - for their post-quiz photo...

Word on the street (Old World 3rd Street, that is) is that the two trivia juggernauts are going to combine forces for a team at Quizmaster Cup on November 13th! We wanna see that!

The coveted people's prize for best team name was a tricky one, with no real stand-out names on the evening, and so the Quizmaster handed all the remaining teams a sudden death card - with the winning team taking the $10 tab!

Tense stuff! But it was the In My Underwear/Knickers crew that took away the prize with a good answer in response to the oldest person person ever...

Yes, Jeanne Calment of France was 122 when she died! Damn!

Erwin Johannes Eugen Rommel (15 November 1891 – 14 October 1944), popularly known as the Desert Fox (Wüstenfuchs), was a German Field Marshal of World War II. He won the respect of both his own troops and the enemies he fought.

He was a highly decorated officer in World War I, and was awarded the Pour le Mérite for his exploits on the Italian front. In World War II, he further distinguished himself as the commander of the 7th Panzer Division during the 1940 invasion of France. However, it was his leadership of German and Italian forces in the North African campaign that established the legend of the Desert Fox. He is considered to have been one of the most skilled commanders of desert warfare in the war. He later commanded the German forces opposing the Allied cross-channel invasion in Normandy.

As one of the few generals who consistently fought the Western Allies (he was never assigned to the Eastern Front), Rommel is regarded as having been a humane and professional officer. His Afrikakorps was never accused of war crimes. Soldiers captured during his Africa campaign were reported to have been treated humanely. Furthermore, he ignored orders to kill captured commandos, Jewish soldiers and civilians in all theaters of his command.

Late in the war, Rommel was linked to the conspiracy to kill Adolf Hitler. Because Rommel was widely renowned, Hitler chose to eliminate him quietly; in trade for assurances his family would be spared, Rommel agreed to commit suicide.

Quizmaster founder and resident QM Ryan returned to hosting duties this Wednesday night at the Milwaukee Brat House, following a 3-week period where his talents where needed elsewhere.

And quizzers were pleased to see a return to the norm, although long-serving trivia veterans Fuckin Wolverine couldn't return to the quiz summit on the night, finishing in second place in the end...

Although, admittedly, they thought their 47 point tally would be enough for victory! Good times with them as always, and the Quizmaster stuck around and enjoyed a tasty Schlitz beverage with them post-quiz.

And yes, the Brat House is fuckin' state - cobwebs everywhere... ZING!

Just outmatching the Wolverines on the night were usual Milwaukee Ale House stalwarts Urethra Franklin, in the Jungle Room, with Monkey Butter, who switched to a different venue this week, with a $40 bar tab their reward....

Their team named referenced a couple of the night's question and the Quizmaster unique pronunciation of Uretha Franklin :)

The best team name award went the way of regulars Any More Time in this Jungle Room and I'll Get Monkey Butter... In My Pants! who finished handsomely in the middle of the pack...

This Wednesday night was the last installment of trivia from Quizmaster Sam, as Ryan returns next week to host the pub quiz!

And with the Brewers on all screens, there was no music in this edition of Quiz Night, just the power of a young Englishman's accent popping up every now and again testing forty players to compete for three bar tabs.

It would appear one of our 'Film and Tele' questions was to be a hit on the night, with a James Bond theme inspiring a few teams, including Best Team Name winner Pussy doesn't start with a G. The two chipper gents won a $10 bar tab for the genius team name...

We believe this team member was pointing at a nice young lady that he wanted to feature in his picture. She graciously declined.

Winners on the evening granted Coitus Interruptus with yet another bar tab victory. A solid performance gave them a $40 certificate!

And it happened to be a certain member of the first place victors that pointed out "Pussy does start with a G - it's known as Gash."

We wonder who it could be...

Finally second place left Tony La Russa can just beat it... in my pants with a $20 bar tab and a table of smiles for their Quizmaster pic...

The Pan-American Highway is a network of roads measuring about 47,958 kilometres (29,800 mi) in total length. Quizmaster Sam stepped in again at Brat House this week to host trivia at 7pm sharp. An energized audience eagerly awaited the start of the evening's baseball game as the Brewers took on the Diamondbacks, which certainly inspired a few team names on the night!

Winners on the evening was Arizona is going down like your Sister did last night who dominated with a powerful 46 points!

The lads won a $40 bar tab for the victory.

Elsewhere on the evening, following a hockey question American Girls Hate Hockey Because Of The 3 Inch Puck was created and following a substantial chuckle from the audience they were awarded the best team name prize!

The Ladies won a $10 bar tab for the team name. Size clearly does matter to these girls...

Finally, last week's winners fell into second place this week following a sudden death victory for the runner-up prize. Want to kill Steve Jobs? There's an app for that won a $20 bar tab for second!

Too soon? Literally three hours after the fact. But it goes to show that the legend of Steve Jobs lives on during pub quiz!

The White House is the official residence and principal workplace of the president of the United States. Located at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW in Washington, D.C., the house was designed by Irish-born James Hoban, and built between 1792 and 1800 of white-painted Aquia sandstone in the Neoclassical style. It has been the residence of every U.S. president since John Adams. When Thomas Jefferson moved into the house in 1801, he (with architect Benjamin Henry Latrobe) expanded the building outward, creating two colonnades that were meant to conceal stables and storage.

In 1814, during the War of 1812, the mansion was set ablaze by the British Army in the Burning of Washington, destroying the interior and charring much of the exterior. Reconstruction began almost immediately, and President James Monroe moved into the partially reconstructed house in October 1817.

Because of crowding within the executive mansion itself, President Theodore Roosevelt had all work offices relocated to the newly constructed West Wing in 1901. Eight years later, President William Howard Taft expanded the West Wing and created the first Oval Office which was eventually moved as the section was expanded. The third-floor attic was converted to living quarters in 1927 by augmenting the existing hip roof with long shed dormers.

A newly constructed East Wing was used as a reception area for social events; Jefferson's colonnades connected the new wings. East Wing alterations were completed in 1946, creating additional office space. By 1948, the house's load-bearing exterior walls and internal wood beams were found to be close to failure. Under Harry S. Truman, the interior rooms were completely dismantled and a new internal load-bearing steel frame constructed inside the walls.

In 2007, it was ranked second on the American Institute of Architects list of "America's Favorite Architecture".

It was a bustlin' night of drinkin' and thinkin' at the Brat House again this Wednesday. Although, as always, the drinkin' aspect of the night's shenanigans took over for most teams, enjoying the wonder that is $1 Schlitz.

And the Quizmaster was pleased to welcome Milwaukee quiz veterans I Wish I Was a Little Bit Taller... In My Pants!, who transferred to the Brat from a different venue....

They ended up taking a solid second place after winning out in sudden death! They also owe the Quizmaster 8 drinks, as he bought each of them a Schlitz!

They were outwitted by just one team in the end, as Brat House quiz stallions Oh Shit... Darren Sharrrpah (a combination of some of the Brat teams of old) took $40 and top spot...

Giles Corey (also spelled Cory or Coree, c. 1611 – September 19, 1692) was a prosperous farmer and full member of the church in early colonial America who died under judicial torture during the Salem witch trials. Corey refused to enter a plea, and was crushed to death by stone weights in an attempt to force him to do so. In April 1692, he was accused by Ann Putnam, Jr., Mercy Lewis, and Abigail Williams of witchcraft. Ann Putnam Jr claimed that on April 13, the specter of Giles Corey visited her and asked her to write in the Devil's book. Later, Putnam also claimed that a ghost appeared before her to announce that it had been murdered by Corey. Other girls were to describe Corey as "a dreadful wizard" and recount stories of assaults by his specter. Corey's last words were "more weight."

Giles Corey was arrested on April 18, 1692, along with Mary Warren, Abigail Hobbs, and Bridget Bishop. The following day, they were examined by the authorities, during which Abigail Hobbs confessed to Giles being a warlock.

Corey refused to plead (guilty or not guilty), was committed to jail and subsequently arraigned at the September sitting of the court.

According to the law at the time, a person who refused to plead could not be tried. To avoid persons cheating justice, the legal remedy for refusing to plead was "peine forte et dure". In this process the prisoner is stripped naked, with a heavy board laid on their body. Then rocks or boulders are laid on the plank of wood. This was the process of being pressed.

Axel Paulsen (1855-1938) was a Norwegian figure skater and speed skater. He is the inventor of the figure skating Axel jump.

Paulsen first publicly executed the Axel jump in 1882 at the World Championships in Vienna while wearing speed skates. At the Vienna World Championships Paulsen won both the speed skating and fancy (figure) skating events becoming the World Champion.

In the winter of 1883 Paulsen went to North America to participate in a series of skating events. On February 8, 1883 a race was held at the open air rink in Washington Park, Brooklyn, New York. Paulsen defeated 17 picked skaters, the fastest from Norway, Canada, England and the United States and set the following records at the race:

1 mile: 3 minutes, 34 3/5 seconds
5 miles: 19 minutes, 10 seconds
10 miles: 39 minutes, 7 3/5 seconds

Paulsen was a professional skater competing in races and meets that offered the winners prize purses and metals; he was the World Professional Speed Skating Champion from 1882 to 1889. He lost the title on February 1, 1890 to Canadian professional speed skating champion Hugh J. McCormick at a 3-race meet in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Although surprisingly no team felt the need to reference the Super Bowl champs in their names with The Problem with Scotland is that it's Full of Scots! taking the Braveheart route and a win on the night...

The problem with the Brat House is that its full of sausage!

And they got some grief from Jeff (who finished on the second placed team) following the quiz.

In other news, the fave team name prize was as always closely contested with Who wants to see an Eiffel Tower? being on the shortlist of candidates for the $10 tab...

That's not how it's done! Perhaps an illustration will better portray the Eiffel Tower....

Yes, the French are creative.

The Parthenon is a temple on the Athenian Acropolis, Greece, dedicated to the Greek goddess Athena, whom the people of Athens considered their patron. Its construction began in 447 BC and was completed in 438 BC, although decorations of the Parthenon continued until 432 BC. It is the most important surviving building of Classical Greece. Its decorative sculptures are considered some of the high points of Greek art. The Parthenon is regarded as an enduring symbol of Ancient Greece and of Athenian democracy and one of the world's greatest cultural monuments.

The Parthenon itself replaced an older temple of Athena, which historians call the Pre-Parthenon or Older Parthenon, that was destroyed in the Persian invasion of 480 BC. Like most Greek temples, the Parthenon was used as a treasury. For a time, it served as the treasury of the Delian League, which later became the Athenian Empire. In the 5th century AD, the Parthenon was converted into a Christian church dedicated to the Virgin Mary.

After the Ottoman Turk conquest, it was turned into a mosque in the early 1460s, and it had a minaret built in it. On 26 September 1687, an Ottoman Turk ammunition dump inside the building was ignited by Venetian bombardment. The resulting explosion severely damaged the Parthenon and its sculptures. Bösendorfer, one of the oldest piano manufacturers, was established in 1828 by Ignaz Bösendorfer. From the outset, it has had a history of producing highly respected instruments; in 1830, it was granted the status of official piano maker to the Emperor of Austria. Ignaz's son Ludwig Bösendorfer (15 April 1835 – 9 May 1919) took over in 1859, operating from new premises from 1860. Between 1872 and its closure in 1913, the associated Bösendorfer-Saal was one of the premier concert halls of Vienna. In 1909, the company was sold to Carl Hutterstrasser, who was succeeded by his sons Alexander and Wolfgang in 1931. In 1966 Bösendorfer was taken over by the Jasper Corporation (later renamed Kimball International), parent company of Kimball Pianos, where it remained before returning to Austrian hands when it was purchased by BAWAG PSK Gruppe in 2002. BAWAG signed an agreement to sell all stock in Bösendorfer to Yamaha on 20 December 2007.

They beat out a combination of the old Coitus Interuptus and Fuckin Wolverine teams (aka Rob's Favorite Band is Anal Cunt) to first place.

Was born in Brooklyn in 1899

Alphonse Gabriel "Al" Capone (January 17, 1899 – January 25, 1947) was an American gangster who led a Prohibition-era crime syndicate. The Chicago Outfit, which subsequently became known as the "Capones", was dedicated to smuggling and bootlegging liquor, and other illegal activities such as prostitution, in Chicago from the early 1920s to 1931.

Born in Brooklyn, New York to Italian immigrants, Capone became involved with gang activity at a young age after being expelled from school at age 14. In his early twenties, he moved to Chicago to take advantage of a new opportunity to make money smuggling illegal alcoholic beverages into the city during Prohibition. He also engaged in various other criminal activities, including bribery of government figures and prostitution. Despite his illegitimate occupation, Capone became a highly visible public figure. He made various charitable endeavors using the money he made from his activities, and was viewed by many to be a "modern-day Robin Hood".

Capone was publicly criticized for his involvement in the Saint Valentine's Day Massacre, when seven rival gang members were executed. Capone was convicted on federal charges of tax evasion, and sentenced to federal prison. His incarceration included a term at the new Alcatraz federal prison. In the final years of Capone's life, he suffered mental and physical deterioration due to late-stage neurosyphilis, which he had contracted as a youth. On January 25, 1947, he died from cardiac arrest after suffering a stroke.

Despite the challenges from Dolla Bills and London is Burning, it was The Best Team as Voted by Maxim Magazine that took second in the end after winning out in sudden death...

And the gong for best team name (pity prize) went to the Larry King and the Vinegar Strokes...

Florence Nightingale OM, RRC (12 May 1820 – 13 August 1910) was a celebrated English nurse, writer and statistician. An Anglican, Nightingale believed that God had called her to be a nurse. She came to prominence for her pioneering work in nursing during the Crimean War, where she tended to wounded soldiers. She was dubbed "The Lady with the Lamp" after her habit of making rounds at night.

Florence Nightingale's most famous contribution came during the Crimean War, which became her central focus when reports began to filter back to Britain about the horrific conditions for the wounded. On 21 October 1854, she and a staff of 38 women volunteer nurses, trained by Nightingale and including her aunt Mai Smith, were sent (under the authorisation of Sidney Herbert) to the Ottoman Empire, about 295 nautical miles (546 km; 339 mi) across the Black Sea from Balaklava in the Crimea, where the main British camp was based.

Nightingale arrived early in November 1854 at Selimiye Barracks in Scutari (modern-day Üsküdar in Istanbul). She and her nurses found wounded soldiers being badly cared for by overworked medical staff in the face of official indifference. Medicines were in short supply, hygiene was being neglected, and mass infections were common, many of them fatal. There was no equipment to process food for the patients.

Nightingale laid the foundation of professional nursing with the establishment, in 1860, of her nursing school at St Thomas' Hospital in London, the first secular nursing school in the world, now part of King's College London. The Nightingale Pledge taken by new nurses was named in her honour, and the annual International Nurses Day is celebrated around the world on her birthday.

It was nothing short of a rather epic night of quizzin' at the Brat last Wednesday. The Quizmaster's family was in town, there was a team with two visually-impaired folks (they got extra help on the picture questions) and also a more-than-usual British themed trivia extravaganza overall.

In the end though it was the Fuckin Wolverine (minus one tiny penis) that took top spot again, while the boys from Coitus muscled into second place, just one point back...

Always an interesting photo-opportunity with those lads involved.

Elsewhere, despite some lengthy team names, it was quick and simple that won the night's best team name gong, as FUCKNUTS stole $10 from the rest of Milwaukee...

They were on their nationwide baseball tour (viewing the Brewers 10-5 win over the Cardinals earlier that day) and moving on to Wrigley Field the next day. We wish them the best of luck!

Zeus was the child of Cronus and Rhea, and the youngest of his siblings. Well, it was a bittersweet night of quizzin' at the legendary Milwaukee Brat House on Wednesday night. The bar was jammed with Schlitz-hungry and trivia-thirsty queeps (that's quiz+peeps) for the weekly trivia show.

It was, however, the final night of quiz at the Brat House for long-serving queep and long-serving Schlitz drinker Ian Johnson (seated below) of team Fuckin' Wolverine....

They pulled out the "tiny penis" pose (not sure what that's in reference to?) for their final photo as a full team. Ian will be moving to Colorado on Sunday and we at Quizmaster wish him all the best!

In other news, the Brat House welcomed the YaYa Brats to quiz night, who were "whooo-ing" at every opportunity they got...

Definitely the unofficial winners of the "most fun team" award, which has no monetary value btw.

Yeah it was a little crazy on the night.

Charles Augustus Lindbergh (February 4, 1902 – August 26, 1974) was an American aviator, author, inventor, explorer, and social activist.

Lindbergh, a 25-year-old U.S. Air Mail pilot, emerged from virtual obscurity to almost instantaneous world fame as the result of his Orteig Prize-winning solo non-stop flight on May 20–21, 1927, from Roosevelt Field located in Garden City on New York's Long Island to Le Bourget Field in Paris, France, a distance of nearly 3,600 statute miles (5,800 km), in the single-seat, single-engine monoplane Spirit of St. Louis. Lindbergh, a U.S. Army reserve officer, was also awarded the nation's highest military decoration, the Medal of Honor, for his historic exploit.

In March 1932, however, his infant son, Charles, Jr., was kidnapped and murdered in what was soon dubbed the "Crime of the Century" which eventually led to the Lindbergh family fleeing the United States in December 1935 to live in Europe where they remained until the surprise attack on Pearl Harbor by the Imperial Japanese Navy. Before the United States formally entered World War II by declaring war on Japan on December 8, 1941, Lindbergh had been an outspoken advocate of keeping the U.S. out of the world conflict, as was his Congressman father, Charles August Lindbergh (R-MN), during World War I, and became a leader of the anti-war America First movement. It was a buzzin' night of quiz at the Milwaukee Brat House this Wednesday evening.

Betty swollocks were all around on what was the hottest day of the year in 2011: a sweltering 97 degrees Fahrenheit (plus humidity people!), but as ever the show must go on!

In the end, it was the Firefoxes who, having regained their quiz genius from Georgia (the country people, the country), that stole pole position with 48 points in the end...

Although with their genius being present for just one night we expect them to linger towards the opposite end of the standings next week!

It was combination of regular team Fuckin' Wolverine, Bang! Pregnant and Coitus Interuptus that teamed up to form a trivia juggernaut known as It's Too Hot for Coitus So I Finger Banged! a Wolverine, but were only good enough for second spot after 30 questions...

In other news, the Quizmaster welcomed Philadelphians (or is that Philadelphi-ites or Philadelphiers for that matter) to the quiz, who scored very admirably, with 46 points...

That was Johnny Marbles who just missed out on the prizes in the end, but they assured us that when they're back in town again they will challenge for the honors! They tweeted their excitement from the night!

And finally the best team name was awarded to such a team that referenced the day's intense heat. I've Got Schweaty Balls Like Alec Baldwin hailed from their original spot in Grafton, and stole a prize on their first night at the Brat...

Well, another beautiful Wednesday Milwaukee evening brought out some of the quiz faithful to the Brat House again this week.

Another challenging quiz meant that the night's top two would battle in sudden death to determine a winner, although it was HMS David Furnish (who could've sworn that HMS stood for HoMo Sexual) that stole top honors in the end...

They too were disappointed that Macho Man Randy Savage (Ohhhh, Yeaaaah!) did not get a mention at the ESPY Awards for athletes (yeah, motherfuckin' "athletes," that's right) that died in the past year!

The savageness of the $2 Schlitz pairs quickly spread to newcomers 5 Holes and a Stick, who were eventually rewarded with the people's prize of best team name, and exited $10 the richer...

Seriously that guy must be gay. Hanging out with five birds!

Bhutan is a landlocked state in South Asia, located at the eastern end of the Himalayas and bordered to the south, east and west by the Republic of India and to the north by the People's Republic of China.

The state religion is Vajrayana Buddhism, and the population of 691,141 is predominantly Buddhist, with Hinduism the second-largest religion. The capital and largest city is Thimphu.

The Spanish–American War was a conflict in 1898 between Spain and the United States. It ultimately ended with the Americans defeating the Spaniards. Revolts against Spanish rule had been endemic for decades in Cuba and were closely watched by Americans; there had been war scares before, as in the Virginius Affair in 1873. By 1897–98, American public opinion grew angrier at reports of Spanish atrocities. After the mysterious sinking of the American battleship Maine in Havana harbor, political pressures from the Democratic Party pushed the government of President William McKinley, a Republican, into a war McKinley had wished to avoid. Compromise proved impossible, resulting in an ultimatum sent to Madrid demanding it relinquish control of Cuba immediately, which was not accepted. First Madrid, then Washington, formally declared war.

Although the main issue was Cuban independence, the ten-week war was fought in both the Caribbean and the Pacific. A series of one-sided American naval and military victories followed on all fronts, owing to their numerical superiority in most of the battles and despite the good performance of some of the Spanish infantry units. The outcome was the 1898 Treaty of Paris—which was favorable to the U.S.—followed by temporary American control of Cuba and indefinite colonial authority over Puerto Rico, Guam and the Philippines. The defeat and subsequent end of the Spanish Empire was a profound shock for Spain's national psyche. The victor gained several island possessions spanning the globe and a rancorous new debate over the wisdom of imperialism.

It was an eventful night of quizzin' as the Brat House was banged! out this past Wednesday. It was also the first night of Summerfest, and queeps stopped in for the quiz at 7pm and swiftly took the Brat House free shuttle (with the Quizmaster himself) to the fest following the quiz at 9pm!

And it was newcomers "MEEER" that came for the shuttle and Schlitz, but stayed for the trivia on the night, and they're glad they did as they took first place...

The three point soccer question proved to be the difference for them, as they were one of few teams to ace it!

They were followed in second place by the artists formerly known as Fuckin Wolverine (or part, thereof), aka Three Wolf Moon...

In other news, front row and center on the night were Breast Friends, who were enjoying the constant innuendos and unlimited supply of Schlitz...

character, Auric Goldfinger, the 49th greatest
villain in the past 100 years of film

Goldfinger (1964) is the third spy film in the James Bond series, and the third to star Sean Connery as the fictional MI6 agent James Bond. It is based on the novel of the same name by Ian Fleming. The film stars Honor Blackman as Bond girl Pussy Galore and Gert Fröbe as the title character along with Shirley Eaton as famous Bond Girl Jill Masterson. The film was produced by Albert R. Broccoli and Harry Saltzman, and was the first of four Bond films directed by Guy Hamilton.

The film was the first official Bond blockbuster that made cinematic history by recouping its production costs in record-setting time, despite a budget equal to that of the two preceding films combined. Goldfinger was also the first Bond film to use a pop star to sing the theme song during the titles, a hallmark that would follow for every Bond film except On Her Majesty's Secret Service.

Auric Goldfinger is a fictional character and the main antagonist in the James Bond film and novel Goldfinger. His first name, Auric, is an adjective meaning of gold. Ian Fleming chose the name to commemorate the architect Ernő Goldfinger, who had built his home in Hampstead, near to Fleming's; it is possible, though unlikely, that he disliked Goldfinger's style of architecture and destruction of Victorian terraces and decided to name a memorable villain after him. According to a 1965 Forbes article and The New York Times, the Goldfinger persona was based on gold mining magnate Charles W. Engelhard, Jr.

It was an intimate night of quizzin' at the Brat House again this Wednesday evening. The night's winners came from the artist formerly known as Fuckin' Wolverine in the shape of their alias I'm Not Gay But My Smart Car is. Blow Me...

Second place ended in a tie and a sudden death duel took place, although Finger Bang! Pregnant were the ones jumping for joy with a win and $20 tab going their way...

The night's tab of a whole 10 dolla for best team name (aka the pity prize) went to Pre Vomiters from London, although they lied, as they were from Alaska!!!...

They were visiting all the way from the last frontier and had some interesting comments about "how early it gets dark here!"

We're assuming they won't be back to play next week, but you never know!

Cluedo (Clue in North America) is a popular murder/mystery-themed deduction board game originally published by Waddingtons in Leeds, England in 1949. It was devised by Anthony E. Pratt, a solicitor's clerk from Birmingham, England. It is now published by the United States game and toy company Hasbro, which acquired its U.S. publisher Parker Brothers as well as Waddingtons.

The object of the basic game is for players to strategically move around the game board (a mansion), in the guise of one of the game's six characters, collecting clues from which to deduce which suspect murdered the game's perpetual victim: Dr. Black (Mr. Boddy in North American versions), and with which weapon and in what room.

Several games, books, and a film have been released as part of the Cluedo franchise. The board games form an overall story whose complete chronology can be found at Cluedo chronology. Overall, several spinoffs have been released, some featuring extra characters, and for some, different game play. More recent editions have restored the name, Tudor Mansion to the mansion, and say the mansion is located in Hampshire, England in the year 1926.

In 2008, Cluedo: Discover the Secrets was created (with changes to board, gameplay and characters) as a modern spin-off.

Bring Back Pete cheers echoed through the Milwaukee Brat House, and turned slowly into "They Brought Back Pete" this Wednesday quiz night.

By popular demand QM Pete took on the MCing duties for the week while the Quizmaster himself, Ryan was on holiday (vacation to the Americans) in jolly ol' England.

Taylor Swift did her best to delay the start but there was no sopping the boisterous crowd from expressing their knowledge while drinking and eating brats...

Coitus Interuptus took the first place prize on the night with a wopping 45 points, second place went to Pete... Do You Schlitz or Swollow? with 44 points...

And yes, with Pete's infamous no-flash photography quizzers were NOT singing "Bring back Pete's camera!"

Special mention went to the team formally known as Fuckin Wolverine, who took best team name for If Men With Small Penises Drive Hummers, Ian Should Drive A God Damn Tank! scoring 41 points. QM Pete can confirm Ian is hung like a horse... fly. It's TINY.

All of this madness will repeat itself next Wednesday at 7pm sharp, but Pete has been demoted from his hosting duties because of an incident with a pretzel bun.

The Eiffel Tower (French: La Tour Eiffel, [tuʁ ɛfɛl], nickname La dame de fer, the iron lady) is a puddle iron lattice tower located on the Champ de Mars in Paris. Built in 1889, it has become both a global icon of France and one of the most recognizable structures in the world. The tower is the tallest building in Paris^[10] and the most-visited paid monument in the world; millions of people ascend it every year. Named for its designer, engineer Gustave Eiffel, the tower was built as the entrance arch to the 1889 World's Fair.

The tower stands 324 metres (1,063 ft) tall, about the same height as an 81-storey building. Upon its completion, it surpassed the Washington Monument to assume the title of tallest man-made structure in the world, a title it held for 41 years, until the Chrysler Building in New York City was built in 1930; however, due to the addition in 1957 of the antenna, the tower is now taller than the Chrysler Building. Not including broadcast antennas, it is the second-tallest structure in France after the 2004 Millau Viaduct.

The tower has three levels for visitors. Tickets can be purchased to ascend, by stairs or lift, to the first and second levels. The walk to the first level is over 300 steps, as is the walk from the first to the second level. The third and highest level is accessible only by elevator. Both the first and second levels feature restaurants.

The tower has become the most prominent symbol of both Paris and France, often in the establishing shot of films set in the city.

Well, it was another Wednesday and another night of quizzin' and Schlitzin' at the famous Milwaukee Brat House this week.

A bunch of regulars and some fresh faces got quiz all over them this week, with usual suspects Fuckin Wolverine aka We Only Comment on Facebook Posts to Get Laid! taking top spot and demonstrating their delight in an all-too-familiar crazy post-quiz photograph...

And, as we mentioned, it was good to see fresh blood in the house, as Milwaukee's Best (tourists) came all the way from Columbus, (that's in Ohio, woohoo!) enjoyed the game and got rewarded with 10 whole dollars for best team name...

Won gold medals in fencing in an
unprecedented six Olympic Games

Aladár Gerevich (16 March 1910 in Jászberény – 14 May 1991 in Budapest) was a fencer from Hungary, regarded as "the greatest Olympic swordsman ever". He won medals in sabre in six Olympics. With Birgit Fischer, Gerevich was one of only two athletes to do so. He is also the only athlete to win the same event six times (despite two games passed because of the Second World War). The War could not interfere with perhaps his most impressive record, however; he won gold medals in 1932 and 1960, an unprecedented 28 years apart.

Gerevich's wife, Erna Bogen (also known as Erna Bogathy), his son, Pal Gerevich, and his father-in-law, Albert Bogen, all received Olympic medals in fencing.

In the Hungarian Olympic trials for the 1960 Rome Olympics, the fencing committee told Gerevich that he was too old to compete. He silenced them by challenging the entire sabre team to individual matches and winning every match. He missed the finals of the 1960 Olympic individual sabre event, and a possible individual gold medal, by a single touch. He died in Budapest.

It was dreary, wet and cold day in Mil-la-waa-kee this Wednesday. Quizmaster showed up to the Brat House at 6:45 p.m. to set up for weekly quiz night to be greeted by four (yes, that's 4) patrons in the bar.

It was going to be a thrilling quiz! But then come 7 p.m. (and the official start time of quiz) a bunch of Schlitz-thirsty quizzers came through the doors, and ultimately 8 teams "got involved" for quiz night.

And three was the magic number for quiz regulars Bang! Pregnant who took the night's top position with 42 points...

They were followed in second place by Schlitz Goes the Dynamite, formerly Schlitz on my Chest...

There also a few newbies aka Quizmaster virgins in the (brat) house on the night, with Blind Squirrel bringing up the quiz rear in the end...

While other newcomers Team Mike Hunt (providing much post-quiz fodder for jokes and banter) that stole away the prize of a whole ten dollas for best team name...

Mike Hunt: only in small doses please!

We could go on, honesty.
